ABOUT CV1871
The Story
CV1871™ draws its name from Clarksville, one of Texas’s first Freedmen’s Towns. Founded in 1871, the community was built by Charles Clark—a formerly enslaved man who purchased land west of downtown Austin to create a thriving Black settlement rooted in independence and opportunity.
That spirit of resilience, self-determination, and cultural pride lives in everything we create.
What CV1871 Is
More than a brand, CV1871 is a platform celebrating Black groundbreakers, innovators, and cultural icons—past and present—whose impact continues to shape culture and redefine leadership.
We honor where we come from while designing for what’s next.
Mission
CV1871 exists to honor and elevate Black resilience, innovation, and cultural leadership. Through thoughtful design and modern storytelling, we create products that carry history forward—connecting legacy with the future.
