The name pays homage to Clarksville, one of Texas’s first Freedmen’s Towns, founded in 1871 when Charles Clark, a formerly enslaved man, purchased land west of downtown Austin to build a thriving Black community. That spirit of resilience, self-determination, and culture lives on in every piece we create.

More than just a brand, CV1871 is a platform for groundbreakers, innovators, and Black cultural icons—past and present—who redefine what it means to lead, create, and inspire.

We blend historical reverence with modern design and storytelling, honoring where we come from while pushing toward what’s next.
